One of my favorite botanical painters is Marjolein Bastin. And this is her new and improved site! Check it out!

Ah... Marjolein Bastin! I know her work very well. Although it's not really my taste... too sweet. Yes, there is such a thing as being too sweet ;-) Anyway, what was I saying... although it's not really my style I like her work. I love the way how she draws cats and birds!

I understand what you mean by too sweet! *LOL* I like her nature drawings best, like when she draws the dunes on Ameland, seashells, and so on. And the birds are really, really beautiful, too!

Oooh, sooo beautiful! I like her so much! I gave my mom a calnedar of hers about well 10 years ago and then in between forgot all about Marjolein. Now when I came to Canada here she is at Hallmark with products of all her illustrations, that just blew my mind away!! Amazing what one can do. I guess she had a really good agent ;-)

Take a look at Bea!!

Tine, I knew she is working for Hallmark and I miss Hallmark cards here. I´d love to be able to paint like that!

I grew up with her drawings because she used to be in the Libelle or the Magriet (both Dutch "mommy" magazines) And I really used to love it when I was younger. Nowadays I agree with Marianne, they are too sweet. But her robins .... oh her chubby robins!!!!
